Do you remember that we talked about the Oprah Winfrey show on how to look 10 years younger in 10 days? Do you remember the 10 Superfoods recommended on that show by Dr. Nicholas Perricone?

Well, I have just recently learned that Oprah intends to do a show on one of the superfoods, namely the, Acai berry and specifically on a new diet called the Acai Berry Diet.

Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree. The nutritional benefits of the acai berry are very powerful and therefore Dr. Nicholas Perricone lists it as one of his top 10 Super Foods at Oprah's Web site.

Studies have shown that the Acai berry is one of the more nutritious and powerful foods on the planet. Harvested in the rainforests of Brazil, Acai tastes like a mix of berries and chocolate. (really? excellent!) Hidden within its purple pigment is what makes it the perfect energy fruit.

Acai is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. I can’t imagine acai berry will be found in the local Loblaws, but you might be able to find it at health food stores. It’s possible that you might be able to find a juice form of Acai berry at main stream grocers. You would probably have the best luck buying from a reputable online distributor of acai berry.

The benefits of Acai are purported to be good for detoxing your body and maintaining optimal health and for balancing your pH level. Proper pH balance is vital to our immune health and for disease prevention and correction. Some of the other benefits you might enjoy include:
